There are a few tricks that you can use to win trucks in mud events. Trucks in mud bog events come in many different shapes. Some have been modified for mud events but stock designs do pretty good also.

Tires are a very important tool in mud events. A large tire helps to give the truck a little more lift. Treads are available in many designs, some of them have raised ridges that will help the tire find something to grab onto. Keep the tire in low pressure as this hwelps the grabbing process. over inflation makes the tire to hard.

The air intake system should be cleaned throughly after each use. The air filter should be in like new condition. Some mud slingers are using a washable and reuseable air filter. Keeping the air intake system clean is very important.

Air intake systems that are extended out above the windshield helps keep the filter and inside housing free from debris. Any debris inside the engine can score the rings and the cylinder wall. This could cause loss of power and oil consumption.
